About Us: À Côté is a Rockridge institution serving Mediterranean dishes inspired by California seasonality. We are known for our extensive and unique wine list, focusing on natural wine and unique European varieties. We are a cozy and intimate space that is sought out for both a casual drink at the bar and for special occasions and romantic date nights.
About You: You are an experienced bartender/manager (min 2 years in fine dining). You enjoy working with others, are able to navigate a fast paced work environment, and naturally step up to fill in the gaps when needed. Experience working with European wine and natural wine is a plus, but experience with unique craft spirits is a must. Strong preference given toward candidates with previous management experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, describe style of service, and ensure service is exceptional, welcoming, and of high integrity
- Create and batch house cocktails
- Oversee bar training including how to prepare drinks, handle money, and set up/break down bar
- Train servers and bartenders on new spirits, beers, and cocktails
- Maintain cleanliness, consistency, and quality control
- Cash handling
- Inventory Management
- Update and maintain bar menu
- Update POS and website, as needed
- Order Spirits, Beer, non-alcoholic beverages and dry goods for bar
- Communicate with chef and GM about menu changes and bar needs
- Manage dinner service one night per week, including overseeing execution of opening, closing, and side work
Compensation: $20-25/hour plus tips - DOE
Hours: Full Time or Part Time, if desired. Must be able to work Friday and Saturday. We are open for dinner service Tuesday-Saturday. Shifts begin between 3:00-3:30pm, the restaurant hours are Tues-Thurs 5-9pm, Friday and Saturday 5-10pm.
