MAMA Oakland is an Italian-Californian 3-course prix fixe restaurant focused on warm, welcoming service, nourishing and comforting food, and a fun, approachable yet smart wine list. We're currently seeking a Full-Time Sous Chef to join the team. Featuring a weekly changing menu, a day in the life of Mama is always exciting, challenging, and open to endless possibilities of culinary creation and direction.
Qualified candidates should have experience in the following areas:
Ensures that all products are received in correct unit, count and condition.
Responsible for production work to benefit the restaurant: Butchering, Braises, Stocks, Prep List Execution
Fill in where needed on station to ensure that service standards and efficient operations are met.
Collaborate and attend all scheduled meetings and participate with opinions or ideas pertaining to the agenda.
Participate in ordering, menu development and recipe development.
Strong communication and organization skills, with both cooks and FOH. Spanish speaking a plus!
