Job Overview: Provide a warm and memorable experience for every person who dines at Octavia. The General Manager guides staff in offering a high standard of service, and maintaining a consistent balance between warmth and professionalism. The GM leads service every night on the floor.
Responsibilities include:
Facilitating a warm, seamlessly executed guest experience
Developing a rapport with regular clientele and maintaining systems to grow knowledge of VIPS and regulars continuously
Knowledge of, and comfort with fine dining service standards
Nightly pre-service meeting
Writing FOH schedule
Maitre D’/ floor management during service
Payroll/Labor
Handle daily cash and tip reporting
New Hire procedures
Aloha/Toast editing of frequently changing menu
Collaboration with BOH to produce the daily menu notes
Coffee/Tea ordering and inventory
Assist Wine Director with monthly inventory
Effective and organised communication on weekly manager meeting
Complete Opening/Closing procedures
Handle any issues that may arise - guest relations, internet/power, restaurant maintenance, florals, HR, etc.
Qualifications:
Experience in managing a team of a comparable size and skill for 1+ years
Management experience at a Michelin or other highly rated restaurant preferred
Familiarity with steps of service/ table maintenance
Dedication to hospitality and providing excellent dining experiences, local, seasonal cuisine
Good communication skills
Strong work ethic
Team player mentality
Wine knowledge and service proficiency
Highly motivated, professional, and reliable
1+ year of Toast or comparable POS knowledge is highly desired
Excel and Google Doc proficiency
OpenTable fluency is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
