Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated On-Call Sushi Chef to join our team at Omakase. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and present sushi dishes according to Omakase standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality and presentation standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow.
Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef regarding inventory and supply needs.
Assist in the development of new menu items and specials.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any guest inquiries or concerns.
Chefs must provide and maintain their own knives.
Chefs must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant.
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation and presentation techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity to handle knives and other kitchen equipment safely.
