Insalata’s Restaurant is looking for a Pastry Assistant to join our team. This position is from 6 A.M. to 2:30 P.M four shifts a week to include weekend days and some holidays. This position will involve creating breads and plated desserts for our Mediterranean restaurant as well as providing cookies, tea breads, cakes, and puddings for our busy take-out department and for outside catering.
Responsibilities
Prepare a variety of baked goods to industry standards.
Assist in morning duties to include baking yeasted breads and cookies
Prepare a variety of baked goods and dessert components to include cookie doughs, cakes, tarts, custards, dessert sauces, tea breads, granola, etc.
Requirements
One year industry experience or culinary certification is preferred
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Current Food Handlers certification
