Point Reyes Artisan Bakery Seeks Lead BakerBrickmaiden Breads is seeking a Lead Baker for our Packaged Goods section. About Brickmaiden - Brickmaiden is located in downtown Point Reyes Station, adjacent to the Point Reyes National Seashore. Over the past 21 years Brickmaiden Breads has established a reputation for delicious and high quality baked goods. We are a wholesale & retail facility. We sell to local grocery stores and restaurants and retail through farmer's markets and our bake shop & cafe on the premises. Our property includes a beautiful edible garden that is open to our staff & visitors. What guides our work: community, ingredient and product quality, and sustainability on all levels. We strive to work with small farms, businesses and independent growers to help promote organic and sustainable practices. We bake naturally leavened breads, and a variety of pastry along with a small line of packaged items. We source a variety of grain from local farmers which we mill in house. We also source organic flour and grain from Central MIlling. We are seeking individuals of high integrity to join our team of bakers.Lead Baker (packaged goods): We make packaged cookies, stuffing mix, crackers and more.Job Summary: Coordinate and oversee production of all packaged items.Job Tasks:Monitor quality of packaged goods, making necessary adjustments when needed, such as altering bake temp, ingredient prep, or recipes. Consult with management on adjustments.Address specific quality concerns with individual staff. Ensure all staff are clear on Brickmaiden's quality standards.Manage and fulfill wholesale orders.Communicate with wholesale accounts regarding orders and new products.Train new staff.Ensure all staff are performing all job responsibilities. Address any concerns with the staff member, and report to management. Bring larger or repeated issues to management to be addressed. Maintain quality of packaging, including its appearance, performance, and sustainability. Coordinate staff to fulfill cleaning, maintenance, and prep duties specific to package goods. Be knowledgeable on the source of our ingredients. Impart this information to both your staff and the market staff. Be knowledgeable on the quality and philosophy of our ingredients. Impart this information to both your staff and market staff. Complete ordering for the department. Communicate arrivals of deliveries, necessary pickups, and other pertinent information to whomever necessary (management and/or staff). Maintain relevant ordering sheets in the binder.Maintain stock of paper products, including labels, boxes and cello bags. Observe any personnel issues, bring to management.
