Valley of the Moon Children’s Center (VMCC)!
Starting salary at $23.62/hour ($49,297/year) plus a competitive total compensation package!
The Valley of the Moon Children’s Center is a resource hub for caregivers of foster youth and houses two residential programs; a 24-hour emergency shelter and a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The STRTP is an intensive, residential therapeutic treatment services program designed to meet the behavioral and mental health needs of foster youth. The Emergency Shelter provides a stable, supportive, and nurturing environment for youth who have been separated from their families due to abandonment, abuse, or neglect.
Residential Service Workers provide a variety of services, including:
Laundry
Laundering linens, clothing, and personal items for children in residence
Keeping closets stocked with towels, sheets, blankets, and pillowcases
Housekeeping and Cleaning Support
Maintaining inventory of children's clothing, toys, toiletries, and sports equipment
Emptying wastebaskets, sweeping and mopping floors, and washing windows and showcases
Making beds and changing linens
Cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies
Dusting, polishing, and preparing rooms for meetings
Supporting special events for children and foster families including holidays, training, and recognition events
Food Preparation
Preparing, cooking, handling, and serving food
Washing dishes, pots, and pans
Maintaining sanitation standards
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least six months of experience in janitorial work, commercial cleaning, and/or food preparation.
This position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies. Also, Residential Service Workers may be required to work for long periods of time while standing, and under conditions of high temperature.
