WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Retail Butcher Shop Counter Hop you are motivated to sell locally raised meat. You ensure an appealing display, and maintain a high quality of freshness by following procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, and wrapping up product. This position requires a smile, accuracy, and an engaged mind.

We are a traditional butcher shop, in the sense that we wake at the crack of dawn because of our dedication to the art of butchery. We specialize in local meat, breaking down whole carcasses into retail cuts. Our work makes healthy local meat accessible to the Bay Area, and ensures availability of the processing infrastructure necessary for regenerative agriculture.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Reliable, responsible, honest, and punctual
Give every customer prompt and undivided attention
Accurately prepare, package, weigh, and price meat products
Maintain accurate signage and pricing
Work with Quickbooks POS and collect money from customers
Take orders both in person and over the phone
Beginning of the day set-up & End of day cleaning, sanitizing, and closing
Maintain high sanitation standards
Operate all equipment safely
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Work with a sense of urgency
Desire for collaborative work environment, while able to work independently
Must be able to stand 10 hours
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Enthusiasm for SCMC's mission - to provide the best meat processing in the North Bay
DESIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of primal and retail cuts helpful
Experience in the meat industry a plus
