The Retail Counter Manager is responsible for training each counter hop on sales techniques and improving cutting skills. They maintain a list of daily tasks including but not limited to production goals and cleaning items. They share their knowledge about how to cook the cuts we sell as well as where we source them with the Retail team and customers.
A successful Retail Manager looks forward at least a week ahead of time to forecast what to expect from holidays and what we should have on hand. Communication with the Team Lead Managers is crucial to determine push items, run sales, and order products to have on hand. With experience, they can run a team of 3-4 people and practice sales techniques daily through roleplay to increase upsells, and ticket averages.
Key Performance Outcomes:
Increase sales over all over previous year, Average ticket sales per order over $55
Maintain cash integrity, deposit in safe nightly and complete paperwork according to SOP
Must be first person in and last person out for Scheduled shifts
Labor percentage over sales to be less than 25%
Spoilage is eliminated entirely by processing and freezing product before expirations
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain organization of retail cooler, everything is labeled and has its place.
Delegate cleaning tasks and other unskilled labor to team members.
Rotation of fresh and frozen products must be maintained, first in first out FIFO.
Take orders in person and over phone, confirm availability before guaranteeing .
Identify an assistant Manager, build a team for your absence.
Customer pre orders must be labeled, weighed, and stored in designated area
Phone is answered promptly and politely “Thank you for calling SCMC, This is (Insert name) how can I help you?”
Phone calls that aren’t for retail must have messages written legibly and completely.
Messages must include callers Name, Phone Number, Time/Date of call, and details of call.
Eliminate Shyness in the sales team, teach them to establish connections with customers for sales and not stories.
Qualifications:
2+ years in retail, sales, or similar customer service environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Expectations: Work with Quickbooks POS and collect money from customers. Operate all equipment and handle utensils safely. Maintain high sanitation standards. Work with a sense of urgency.
