Square Pie Guys, a nationally acclaimed Detroit-style pizza Restaurant, has experienced remarkable growth since our inception as a pop-up in September 2018. In less than a year, we opened our first location. We have since expanded to three brick-and-mortar locations and nine licensed ghost kitchens throughout the Bay Area, with soaring sales and recognition from the SF Chronicle, Eater Infatuation, and Thrillist. With plans to open at least 2 or 3 new brick-and-mortar location in 2025, we're seeking to expand our team with a Shift Leader who can contribute to our evolution as the best pizza brand in the Bay Area.
Overview of position: As shift lead, your focus is on ensuring that all food and drink are delivered to our guests at the highest quality. This position offers direct opportunity for growth as the restaurant grows. As shift lead, you are responsible for overseeing the kitchen during the crucial dinner day part The ideal candidate has run expo in high volume restaurants, has experience managing more than 5 employees and / or has experience in scratch restaurants on the line. Mostly afternoons and evenings.
Responsibilities:
Oversees the performance of the team during service
Completes daily line checks of all food on the line, and maintains a clean restaurant, including ensuring that product is stored at correct temperatures
Ensures that all team members get their state mandated breaks in the correct time windows.
Ensures that all recipes and sub recipes are prepared according to SPG training materials and recipe guides.
Takes a leadership role in suggesting process improvements.
Owns the communication of total prep needs between night crew and day crew to ensure a consistent production schedule.
Writes daily prep list at end of night to set up team for success
Provide guidance and leadership to all team members, delegating effectively as needed to ensure the restaurant is ready for service.
Ordering: Owns ordering for Cooks Company, Golden Gate Meat, Birite Foodservice.
Collaborates with other management to create a positive, professional and effective working environment.
Ensures that all daily, weekly and monthly deep cleaning tasks are completed.
Ideal Candidate:
At least 2 years experience in high volume, fine dining or production kitchens
Has an appreciation for modern restaurant operations and the realities of labor in metropolitan areas
Is empathetic and understanding that our concept is always aiming to strive for a better operations
Must be able to work weekends
Not afraid of a computer or willing to learn any and everything
Has supervised or managed before
Has a sense of humor
California Food Handler Card (SPG to pay for ServSafe Manager Cert. after 6 months)
Interested in helping build systems as our organization grows and scales
Manages their and others’ time well
Has a sense of humor
