We are urgently seeking EMTs for gurney and wheelchair non-emergency patient transportation within Alameda & Contra Costa counties. No prior experience is required but you must pass a background check and have a valid US driver's license. Company vehicles are provided.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed in the field transporting patients to and from their medical appointments via company vehicles.
Physical: Required to carry/lift/push/pull/move up to a 50lb gurney or wheelchair with patient.
Equipment: Frequently required to use repetitive motion of hands and feet to operate a vehicle and cell phone. Gurney van drivers will be required to operate a battery-operated gurney as well as other various tools.
Sensory: Required to read documents, written reports, and signage. Must be able to drive a vehicle safely for extended periods of time.
Cognitive: Must be able to interact with office dispatch as well as patients and fill out transportation logs during shifts. Occasional interaction with medical staff and patients is required.
Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied medical clinic/office environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, specialist offices, and patient residences. Masks and gloves are provided.
