Hourly Phlebotomist (Stanford School of Medicine)

The Mignot Lab within the Stanford School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Division of Sleep Medicine is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to perform hourly phlebotomy, data entry and duties related to the collection of clinical samples.

This position will require 8-20 hours of weekday and/or occasional weeknight work per week between October 2024 and October 2025. The schedule of work will be determined based on patient appointments, generally with at minimum 1-2 weeks of notice.

The position will be based at 430 Broadway Redwood City CA with occasional work at other locations on Stanford Main Campus.

Duties include:

Perform basic measurements and venipuncture on participants according to protocol after appropriate training.

Collect and manage study specimens according to protocol.

Work safely with potentially biohazardous biological specimens under the Stanford University Environmental

Health & Safety guidelines.

Perform data entry according to predetermined protocol

- Other duties may also be assigned

The expected pay range for this position is $27.75 - $30.00 per hour commensurate with experience. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of phlebotomy experience

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

High school diploma

Valid State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

General knowledge of medical terminology.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) Certificate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.

Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
