Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist - Neonatal

We are looking for a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to work in the lab and also help with neonatal blood draws.

We need you to help with processing specimens, answering phone calls, and sending specimens out.

Also, this person will help with doing neonatal draws.

Certification requirements:

CALIFORNIA STATE CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I BLS

You also must have a H/S diploma OR a GED.

You also must be able to pass both a Background Check and a Drug Screen.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will support laboratory operations by performing a variety of tasks related to specimen collection, processing, and analysis.

This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory procedures, contributing to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the collection and processing of specimens, including blood and other biological samples.

Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques with precision and adherence to safety protocols.

Maintain aseptic techniques while handling specimens to prevent contamination.

Support laboratory technicians in conducting various laboratory tests and procedures.

Ensure proper labeling, storage, and documentation of specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.

Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment and workspaces.

Follow established laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.

Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized workflow within the lab environment.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred to understand specimen processing requirements.

Familiarity with clinical laboratory techniques and procedures is highly desirable.

Experience in specimen collection processing, including venipuncture, is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions accurately.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Prior experience in a laboratory setting is required .
