Residential Landscape Construction Foreman

Full Time - 40hrs/week, year-round

Industry leading rate of pay - negotiable depending on experience

GARDEN LIGHTS LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT, INC is an award-winning landscape design-build construction firm based in Orinda. We have created custom residential landscapes for over 30 years.

We have specialized teams that focus on specific landscape elements depending on individual skill sets.

Our work includes but is not limited to the following:

Paver patios, driveways, stairways, and retaining walls.

Modern high-end pools, hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, entertainment, and play spaces.

Wood arbors, trellises, gazebos, fences, railings, and decks

Low voltage landscape lighting

Irrigation and drainage systems

Planting, amendment, and mulching

Pathways, moss rock, and gravel

Water features

REQUIREMENTS:

- 2+ years experience as a Landscape Foreman

- 5+ years experience as a Landscape Laborer/Installer/Lead

- Bilingual - English/Spanish

- Valid CA driver’s license & good driving record

- Reliable transportation

CRITICAL SKILLS:

- Supervise and direct a construction crew in a supportive and positive manner

- Read/understand landscape plans

- Oversee multiple jobs

- Listen, take direction, and communicate with leadership

- Irrigation, planting, low voltage lighting

- Grading and elevations

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

- Plant knowledge

- Concrete and masonry

- Soils

- Pond/water feature installation

- Pool/hot tub plumbing and construction

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work with and supervise a 3–7-person crew

- Keep jobs on schedule, communicate delays, relay client requests to supervisor

- Ensure all necessary tools and materials are on the job site when needed

- Track employee hours and purchases

- Maintain equipment and communicate breakdowns

- Report crew or client issues to management

- Ensure crew safety at all times

- Oversee projects from start to completion of punch list and cleanup

- Submit administrative paperwork neatly and on time

- Assist with training and hiring
