We are growing! Seeking an entry level applicant for either a 3/4 time or full time, long-term position in our Garden Care Program. The applicant must have some background in landscaping and/or residential garden maintenance and basic plant identification skills. Familiarity with CA native plants, soil health, plant diseases, and drip irrigation are a plus. This individual needs to be physically fit and be able to perform all landscape and garden care tasks (plant care, pruning, weeding, mulching, lifting heavy weights). Must be able to manage time and communicate effectively and efficiently with other maintenance staff, clients, and the garden care manager. This is a field position; all tasks will be performed in an outdoor setting and there will be a lot of traveling between job sites.

Required:
1 year of experience in landscaping and/or garden care
Basic knowledge of horticultural plants
Good physical condition (no existing back issues or drug/alcohol issues)
Valid CA driver’s license and a good driving record
Excellent communication skills
English fluency
Desired:
Experience working with native plants and drought tolerant species
Experience with installing and troubleshooting drip irrigation
Ability to speak some Spanish
Location: San Francisco and peninsula south to Palo Alto.
Work Hours:
3/4 time: Monday-Wednesday, 7am-5pm (three 10-hr days). Lunch and driving time included.
OR
Full time: Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm (four 10-hr days). Lunch and driving time included.
Compensation: $25/hr starting pay
Benefits: Company vehicle and tools will be provided, CLCA affiliation, flexible work and vacation schedules, health coverage after 90 days.
