Lake, Pond & Fountain Maintenance Technician
Location: East and South Bay Area.
Compensation: Competitive pay (Based upon experience and skill level) + occasional opportunities for overtime.
Join our team as a Lake, Pond & Fountain Maintenance Technician, where you'll work outdoors servicing ponds, fountains, and aquatic systems. No prior experience? We’ll train the right candidate!
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and service for lakes, ponds, fountains, and aquatic features, ensuring water quality and aesthetics.
Clean and maintain pumps, filters, and water circulation systems.
Perform routine cleaning, vacuuming, and debris removal.
Identify and treat for algae, aquatic weeds, and other water quality issues.
Test and treat water with appropriate products to maintain quality.
Service fountains, inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, filters, aerators, and other water system components.
Utilize vacuums and other specialized equipment to remove debris and algae.
Perform water quality testing with company provided water testing equipment and apply appropriate products.
Assist with surface and groundwater monitoring efforts.
Maintain and deploy water management equipment as needed.
Support vegetation control and removal efforts for water quality and flood protection.
Operate and maintain boats, hand tools, and power equipment, such as pressure washers and weed eaters.
Follow assigned service routes and schedules efficiently.
Keep detailed service records and communicate findings with customers and team members.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally in all interactions.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of experience working independently in an outdoor environment preferred.
Previous experience in pond, pool, or fountain maintenance is a plus.
Experience with water sampling or aquatic ecosystem management is a plus.
Comfortable working around water and operating small boats or other water-related equipment.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow a daily route and work independently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills is a plus.
Must be dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be insurable).
Available to work Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly and perform physical labor in outdoor environments.
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working in and around water, and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to speak and understand English.
Ability to work independently, follow schedules, and problem-solve in the field with supervisorial oversight.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools provided by company.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
