QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Ability to read and comprehend construction plans
Clean driving record and CDL
Ability to plan ahead, schedule deliveries of materials and track labor hours
A broad understanding of Planting, Drainage, and Irrigation
JOB DESCRIPTION: Manage a Crew of 4-5 laborers on one jobsite and get daily, weekly tasks accomplished.
Assist in clearing and grubbing
Hand grading
Digging plant holes
Trench and clean trenches
Glue pipe (mandatory)
Run irrigation control wires
Backfill and cover pipe
Keep job sites clear and clean and perform a variety of other functions when requested
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Experience: 1-3 Years Landscape Construction Experience min., pay based on experience.
Language skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
Math skills: Basic math skills preferred, but not required.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50-80 lbs., carry materials, bend, twist, kneel, climb, and balance. Ability to walk at a brisk pace and work in a kneeling position for extended periods of time. Ability to work in the rain and in extreme temperatures. Ability to withstand dust, pollens and gas fumes on a daily basis.
Other: Ability to understand and follow oral instructions. Ability to arrive on time to work and to work an 8-hour day. Ability to provide own transportation to and from the job site, or to and from the office if assigned to ride a company vehicle to the job site. Ability to respond appropriately to supervisors and co-workers. Although typical workdays are Mon-Fri, must be able to work the occasional weekend shift. MUST BE HARDWORKING INDIVIDUAL WITH STRONG WORK ETHIC.
