Small East Bay law firm, based in Oakland and San Francisco is seeking a contract attorney to assist in the general litigation and
business practice of the firm.
The firm handles matters including:
Real Property
Employment
Contract Disputes
Landlord/tenant
Family law
Some probate
In addition, the firm counsels small businesses on how to manage risk and execute key business transactions.
Candidates should have:
4-6 years litigation experience, including written discovery (propounding and responding)
Depositions (taking and defending) and motion work
Trial experience and knowledge of employment law (DLSE, PAGA, EEOC, DFEH) is a plus
Detail and deadline orientation in order to co-manage cases and handle tasks in a timely manner
Active California Bar Membership
The majority of the firm's clients and cases are in Alameda, San Francisco, and Contra Costa counties; location in the East
Bay is preferred. The majority of the work can be done remotely, but meetings in the Oakland and San Francisco offices, from time to time,
will be necessary as well as Bay Area court appearances.
While there is no guarantee of minimum hours, we anticipate a start of between 15-20 hours per week with the potential
for increased hours thereafter. Hourly compensation is negotiable, based on experience and flexibility.
