We are a small law firm located in the East Bay, seeking a Trust & Estate Paralegal to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the attorney to prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney;
Prepare Deeds and transfer of real property documents and tax affidavits;
Conduct legal research on various topics related to trusts and estates;
Draft legal correspondence and other documents related to estate administration;
Assist with the management of estates, including collecting and inventorying assets, fiduciary accountings, and distributing assets to beneficiaries;
Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and other parties involved in the estate administration process;
Maintain accurate records and files related to estate planning and administration;
Prepare pleadings in probate proceedings; and
Filing documents with the Court.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a trust and estate paralegal
Strong understanding of estate planning and administration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Takes initiative
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
