A general civil litigation firm in San Rafael is seeking a full-time experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our practice. This is a full time 8-hour a day position (Mon-Fri 9 am – 6 pm with some time flexibility after probationary period) and depending on employee's residence and skillset it will be either in-Office, Remote, or Hybrid position. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work independently, responsible for given assignments, dedicated with strong work ethics, detail-oriented, has 2 to 5 years of Litigation Paralegal experience. Must have experience with the entire Discovery process from beginning to finish or be familiar with the discovery process and comfortable handling all stages of Discovery Process. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strong knowledge of California rules and court procedures
Solid understanding of every stage of case management, from inception to mediation, trial/settlement to post-mediation, post-trial/post-settlement
Subpoena client’s records, create timelines and summaries
Ability to handle and manage document productions
Ability to manage entire Discovery process
Must be able to prepare, format and edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence with exhibit tabs and to research case related matters
Ability to multi-task and complete assignments quickly and accurately to meet demanding deadlines
Managing documents, billable hours and expenses in firm software
Using applications, software and platforms in managing projects/communications, formatting/drafting/eFiling legal documents, performing research and gathering information (Acrobat DC Pro, BOX, CEB, Clio, DocuSign, Lexis, Trellis, EsquireTek, Slack, Zipforms etc.)
Ability to take initiative, be resourceful and anticipate needs of attorneys and clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2-5 years of Litigation Paralegal experience (Required)
Must be computer savvy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
Attention to detail is an absolute requirement
Excellent written and oral communications skills (Must provide a couple-paragraph writing sample)
Excellent interpersonal skills, you must be able to communicate and interact with clients, court staff, and other third parties on behalf of the firm in a professional and courteous manner
Adaptable and not afraid to learn new legal-related software.
A self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and navigate through uncertainty
Must be a team player to work effectively
