Astro Motel in Santa Rosa, CA is looking for a marketing coordinator to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 323 Santa Rosa Ave. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and engaged.The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for: handling marketing inquiries; pursuing local business and event partnerships, negotiating and promoting partnered events and package deals and handling applicable administrative tasks; and serving as a liaison between The Astro and the surrounding community.The successful candidate will coordinate events and marketing communications designed to inform and draw in both new and repeat guests, and generally oversee our brand continuity and visibility in multiple markets. They will actively pursue community engagement opportunities and partnerships with local businesses and events. The position will also create promotional materials and collaborate on the development of digital and print marketing. They will track existing marketing campaigns and report on results, coordinating market research evaluation. This is a part-time entry level position for the right candidate, with opportunity for growth as the business grows. It is a hybrid position with a flexible schedule; much of the work can be done from home, with some in-person community engagement and on-site involvement.Benefits "Family Rate" discount for stays at The Astro Employee discount at our partner restaurant The Spinster Sisters Responsibilities Monitoring active marketing programs and developing ways to improve those campaigns Submit ideas for new marketing programs designed to enhance and grow the company’s brand Work closely with the Astro team to create innovative ways to gain exposure for our services and to coordinate our engagement in the communities we serve Be available as a resource for staff who need assistance with completing large projects Maintain a thorough knowledge of the property’s amenities, services, philosophy and aesthetic to effectively and accurately represent the property to media and prospective partners Give property and community tours as a representative of The Astro Motel Handle inbound telephone, email, and mail inquiries, maintaining the mailing list, communicating new inquiry information to the management team, and follow-up with all correspondence, as directed Generate Promotional materials for use in marketing campaigns, coordinate social media postings with Social Media Assistant Work independently and with a creative team to keep the website up to date (Calendar, seasonal promotions, event pages, etc.) Create and distribute monthly newsletters, occasional additional newsletters for special events Create and print in-room information and promotional materials for guests at The Astro Manage web presence by maintaining updated photos and descriptions of The Astro with consistent branding across the web, and respond to reviews and follow up where necessary Proactively build community relationships and pursue local business and event partnerships Create and facilitate events to support and promote the Astro and neighboring businesses (including organization, promotion, and execution of said events) Promote Astro events (e.g pop-up cocktail bar, partnered events, discount codes, etc) via monthly newsletters, email blasts, website, calendar, distribute flyers to local businesses, etc Maintain shared events calendars, keep Astro staff informed of events impacting our guests (road closures, traffic, etc) and potential group reservation opportunities, pursue partnerships with relevant events, keep Astro Events calendar updated on website Actively attend and participate in marketing mixers and local hospitality events, as well as Astro-partnered events held both on-site and in the larger Sonoma County community Contact publications and provide content for advertisement and exposure Work with Astro Team to restyle and decorate for events and holidays Nominate and pursue awards for the Astro (Bohemian’s ‘Best of North Bay’, etc) Meet weekly with Astro management and Spinster hospitality teams Qualifications AA Degree in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in the hospitality industry helpful, but not required Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of marketing Able to create promotional materials fitting an existing (mid-century modern, eclectic, retro-chic) brand aesthetic Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team-oriented, strong interpersonal skills Experience with relevant technologies/digital platforms Experience in or able to learn industry-specific applications pertinent to the job Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously Able to work as part of a team on fun creative projects (e.g. WinterBlast Sofa Parade) Experience in audience targeting and remarketing tactics Desire to build community relationships and brand partnerships within our local (SOFA Santa Rosa Arts District) neighborhood, and in the larger Sonoma County community Experience creating and facilitating partnered events (including organization, promotion, and execution of said events) Strong organizational skills Able to analyze, solve and respond quickly to problems or concerns Able to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, and prioritize tasks and projects Able to process information and apply common sense understanding to follow and carry out written or oral instructions Able to think creatively and accomplish goals within a budget Attention to detail a must Professional demeanor and initiative Community-focused with a positive attitude Commitment to creative teamwork and eagerness for feedback We are looking forward to hearing from you.
