Design Build firm in Los Gatos is looking for a Design Assistant. You will be assisting the Principal Designer with Residential and interior design Projects.
We are looking for a driven, self-starter, willing person who is able to multitask.
OFFICE HOURS Monday - Thursday 10:00am – 3:00pm. 20 -24 hours a week
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist Designer with design development and preparing design presentations
Create, update & maintain Project documents
Draft floor plans, elevations, cabinetry and details
Measure project sites to create as built plans if needed
Help principal with permitting and administration process
Manage office logistics such as shipping, receiving samples and supplies
Maintain the office sample and product library
Product research, sourcing building materials, furniture, fixtures, lighting hardware etc.
Coordinate and manage client invoicing, delivery and installation
Professional and confident with strong written and verbal communication skills
Resourceful and dependable
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in Interior Design field
Design portfolio required
Strong organization and follow-through skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle multiple projects with detail and accuracy
Knowledge of Interior Design Industry and process
Knowledge of Residential, Kitchen and Bath Design
Proficient in Chief Architect drafting software is preferred
Experience working on high end construction projects an asset but not a requirement Access to a reliable car, valid driver’s license and insurance required
