Job description
The employee must be skillful in the use CNC Mills and precision measuring devices to manufacture machined parts to meet customer specified dimensions. The applicant is required to understand and interpret blueprints, sketches, or other description of parts to be fabricated with accepted methods and standards of the machinist trade.
Job Duties
Understanding blueprints and or sketches. Reading work instruction / setup sheets, Proficient at creating CNC mill setups / work holding/fixtures, touching off tools heights and work offset, indicating parts, proficient at dry running and reading G code looking for programing errors and fixture clearances problems, edit G code, adjusting tool wear offset. Proficient at inspect parts to meet print specs. Creating setup sheets / document jobs being run, download and upload programs to the computer, perform related work as assigned. Know how to use a manual mill and lathe.
Job Qualification
High school graduate or equivalent.
Trade years, 4 years Min
Manual Mill & Manual Lathe experience
Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the machining
Considerable knowledge of the machining qualities, properties and uses of various metals such as
aluminum, Brass, Steel, St. Steel, Plastics etc.
Ability to apply machinist craft techniques, processes, and principles.
Ability to apply shop mathematics to practical problems such as computing dimensions,
Laying out work, and setting up machine tools.
Basic computer skills
Having their own tools is a Plus
ability to program using MasterCAM is a plus.
Compensation based on trade experience.
