Cameron House is a 150 year old institution that is deeply woven into San Francisco history and rooted in faith-based outreach and support. We proudly hold the honor of serving the evolving needs of the San Francisco Chinese community. Cameron House is a hub of year-round programs and services. These programs include our heritage youth school, adult ESL and computer classes, counseling services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, domestic violence intervention, and case management for accessing all of the San Francisco area community resources available for immigrants with low to moderate income. We empower community members to build strength and resilience through family-centered programs, and help people learn, heal, and thrive.
JOB SUMMARY
Reports to the Chief of Advancement and works as a member of the Advancement department. Responsibilities include: working closely with key stakeholders to coordinate the execution of communications that broaden awareness and increase visibility of programs and priorities across audiences; ensuring that community outreach efforts reflect the organization's values; and supporting fundraising efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing and Communications
Work closely with the Senior Director of Advancement, Chief Executive Officer, staff, volunteers, and alumni to effectively coordinate communications
Develop a marketing and communications plan that strategically includes short- and long-term goals for reaching a broader base of donors
Lead outreach efforts related to communications, marketing, and programs
Design, create and distribute direct mail, appeals, media/press kits, brochures, newsletters, and other promotional materials
Maintain a current archive of marketing collateral and materials
Identify and explore public relations opportunities
Provide program support and editorial assistance to Program Directors, as needed
Fundraising
Support events such as Carnival, the annual fundraising gala, and other events that are developed
Contribute ideas for short- and long-term strategic fundraising tasks and goals
Capture notes from donor engagement calls and emails in Salesforce Customer Relationship Management database
Generate donation acknowledgment letters and coordinate response to donor inquiries
Generate and send end of the year annual summary of donations, upon request

Basic Abilities
Familiarity with the challenges of immigrant communities as well as the special issues facing women and children exposed to domestic violence, and/or youth development programs
Ability to stay focused, organized, and meet deadlines
Proactive, self-motivated and self-directed with demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and think proactively
Ability to coordinate project logistics, outstanding attention to details and consistent follow up
Communication Skills
Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Cantonese is a plus!
Comfortable picking up the phone or meeting face-to-face, pitching our organization and its programs with passion and credibility
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and/or staff
Possesses a positive “can do” attitude regardless of the task at hand, able to work effectively and collaboratively with others as a team player
Computer Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
Able to Reason & Think Critically
Capable of solving problems with sound judgment and practical approaches - solution-oriented
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Project Management
Required: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in fundraising, communications or related nonprofit areas
Required: Experience working with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel,Powerpoint), and Zoom
Preferred: Experience working in design programs such as InDesign, Wordpress, social media sites, and other platforms
Preferred: Graphic design and/or video editing experience a big plus!
IMPORTANT!

COMPENSATION
As a financial steward of public funds, Cameron House is committed to pay equity and transparency. Cameron House offers competitive base salaries aligned with the market midpoint for not-for-profit organizations of similar size. To maintain this commitment, Cameron House does not negotiate salary offers; instead, each offer is carefully calculated using benchmarking data. This is an nonexempt (hourly) role with a pay range of $27.52 -$33.64 an hour.
