SOS! Richmond is seeking an experienced freelance fundraiser/grant writer to raise funds for projects that will provide shelter and services for the homeless. These projects include outreach, community organizing, a "work first" program that employs homeless individuals, mobile showers, and a planned safe park and transitional village.

Projects may include:

Identifying and researching potential funders

Preparing and/or reviewing grant proposals

Developing corporate and business partnerships/sponsorships.

Development of a plan for other types of fundraising.

The ideal candidate will have:

A proven history of writing successfully funded grant proposals and experience with all that entails, preferably related to services for the homeless

Knowledge of funding sources available through the Contra Costa County Continuum of Care

Experience approaching and developing relationships with potential corporate and business partners/sponsors

Experience with other types of fundraising such as crowdfunding, etc.

Familiarity with the plight of the homeless in West Contra Costa County

A strong desire to help those in need and belief in the value of these projects.

Must have excellent English, writing and communication skills. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, ability and willingness to follow directions, good organizational skills, ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and reliability are essential.

Total funds raised for nonprofit organizations and the methods used.
