A Better Way, Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join our Early Childhood Mental Health Prevention and Intervention Program. This role is pivotal in connecting with caregivers of young children (birth to eight years of age) who are facing or at risk of serious mental health issues. The Outreach Worker will play a crucial role in not just identifying and engaging these families, but also in organizing events to increase awareness and support for the program. We are especially interested in candidates with lived experience as a parent or caregiver within our priority population or those with extensive knowledge of and experience with these communities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Outreach & Promotion of Services-
-Forge and sustain partnerships with referral sources such as healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations.
-Proactively promote the program's goals and services to the community and network partners through various communication channels.
-Create and disseminate informational materials in all relevant languages to accurately describe the program's offerings.
-Keep abreast of and incorporate community resources into the program's service plans.
Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:
-Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Psychology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience working in the human service, social services field
-Preferred: lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a child, having navigated early childhood and or mental health support within the county, or possess extensive experience working with such populations.
-Demonstrated experience in community outreach, event planning, or a related role, ideally within a mental health, early childhood, or family support setting.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to engage with diverse communities.
-Knowledge of local community resources and a commitment to staying informed about available services for families and young children.
-Bilingual or multilingual abilities highly desired to serve non-English speaking communities effectively.
-Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and cases efficiently.
