Private Physical Therapy/wellness business is seeking a fitness-minded administrative assistant to provide office coverage for a small but busy practice consisting of physical therapy, massage, and wellness services. This position requires professionalism and attention to detail, cheerful yet soft-spoken disposition, excellent attendance, willingness to learn and the ability to complete tasks independently. This peaceful PT office sees clients one to one, and provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to combine their office management skills with their interest in movement medicine!
Position expectations include:
- Exceptional customer service with telephone and electronic communication, appointment scheduling, and client check in/out
- Computer work
- Time management and problem solving skills to maintain flow of daily business
- Social media management
- In person work, with minimal remote work
- Option for more income with massage or personal training skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation for communication with patients and clients is critical
- Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment including printing/ copying/ scanning/ faxing, and using credit card machine. Job tasks vary daily with the needs of the business.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks, Google Drive, Word, scheduling programs, etc, and ability to navigate and learn new technology quickly in relation to business operations
- High school degree required, but preferred is a college degree (BA or BS), or evidence of study and self improvement working towards future goals
- Willingness to work in a woman-owned small business
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately and discreetly
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- An interest in physical therapy, rehab, or fitness is necessary for interest in the general work environment; a background in personal training, yoga, pilates is a significant plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of work experience in medical setting, office management, or fitness industry
- Strong internal initiative with the ability to report progress on, and then complete, projects and daily work tasks.
- Excellent organizational (both on and off the computer) skills with follow through
- Time management and accountability are key in this position. If you have reason to miss work frequently, please do not apply
- As mentioned above, interest in fitness, anatomy, health or health/wellness is necessary for interest in the general work environment and will be used in a primary task of the position. Alongside managing the regular front desk needs of this dynamic wellness setting, this position could be a good fit for a bodyworker or exercise professional looking to have their skills utilized in a clinical manner, and develop their own small personal practice over time
Position Details:
Hours per week: 28-32 (3/4 time)
Regular Monday-Thursday schedule; daily timing will vary slightly by the week

Position logistics are dependent on the variety of skills brought to the table, and may include a job share with both management and clinical duties for the right person
Compensation depends on experience and job skills
