A BIT ABOUT ME:
- I am a woman of 50 with 2 college degrees, and a regular surfer, raised in this area. I'm quite competent in certain areas, such as my job, and in homemaking and organization in the physical realm. I don't function well in the digital world and I can't lift much more than 15 pounds, or sit for very long in most chairs without having to change positions often. I do best with a combination of movement, laying down and some sitting each day. I have good furniture at home and have made my space to function well for my medical needs and I am able to be nearly pain free here every day. I would prefer to separate my home life from my work life but that is how things are.
Some time ago, I was permanently injured by a major surgery and a number of pharmaceutical drug treatments, which damaged my brain, spine, abdomen and some nerves. Thankfully, I'm off all medications of these kinds, I'm quite healthy, but I continue to have very specific daily struggles from the internal injuries and need to work from home most of the time. The biggest struggles I have are lifting over 10 pounds, sitting for too long, memory issues and writing issues (not handwriting but prose). I am very clear-headed at certain times and other times, memory and information goes out of my grasp. I have methods to deal with it, but find that by myself I struggle to run things. When I have someone here to help a few times a week, I find life to be possible.
I've had wonderful help here and there and know my needs quite well at this point. If you have the ability to help out in these specific areas, and would like to be supportive to a neighbor, I would love to chat with you further.
