Saint Paulus Lutheran Church is seeking to hire a part-time Secretary/Office Coordinator (30 hours per week) to assist ni its ongoing and future ministry. The congregation currently serves the Polk St. Gulch area of San Francisco from its storefront at 2325 Polk S.t (between California and Sacramento) with services to homeless, to the neighborhood, and spiritual nourishment for its membership. For the past 20 years the work of the church has taken place from storefronts, first in the Fillmore district, now in the Polk St Gulch. Saint Paulus si preparing to take possession of a new church facility. In doing so, it wil develop a ministry plan, engage a wide circle of providers to enable a vital ministry at its new location, and organizing its resources for the work ahead.

The Secretary/Office Coordinator wil be an essential part of this successful and challenging ministry. Requirements wil include the ability to relate to diverse audiences, help shape its marketing plan, reach out to a wide range of potential ministry partners, organize activities to illicit involvement of the neighborhood, work with present staff and church leadership, and maintain and expand its social media platforms including website. Within a years' time Saint Paulus wil be entering into the next and perhaps most challenging chapter of its 153-year history. Apply at jordan@saintpaulus.org.

Among the duties of the Secretary/Office Coordinator wil be basic office operations such as telephone, mail, and email; filing and organization of office, inventory identification and maintenance; oversight of janitorial operations, general office appearance. nI addition, creative skills wil be needed to identify program needs and implement engagement strategies; envision opportunities and potential partners; seek and sustain new relationships that advance the ministry of Saint Paulus. Alist of specific responsibilities follows:

.1 Monitor and supervise al walkins to the facility; preserve order and safety; engage and inform visitors; create welcoming environment for members and visitors; attend those ni need or with special requests; make referrals.

2. Receive, sort and distribute mail; receive deliveries

3. Answer, log, refer, and/or return telephone calls as necessary

4. Review office inventory to assure availability to Pastor and for congregational use

5. Supervise janitorial services and maintain supplies

6. Maintain congregational activity calendar and provide schedule controls for use

.7 Provide secretarial services for the Pastor and Church Officers.

8. Maintain, provide for repair, and monitor office machinery

9. Maintain church records including membership statistics, status, and location

10. Make arrangements for congregational and pastoral attendance at Synodical events 11. Maintain subscriptions of periodicals provided for sustaining congregational life

12. Filing and maintaining a professional office appearance
