ABOUT THE ROLE
Mystic is Mill Valley’s only art store and studio, offering art supplies, curated gifts, and creative classes.We are looking for an outgoing, thoughtful, multitasking art-lover to join our shop team. You’ll help customers discover the perfect art supplies and gifts, keep the floor running smoothly, and contribute to the warm, inspiring atmosphere our community loves.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Assist customers – Guide artists of all levels to the right art materials, answer questions across multiple mediums, and help shoppers select thoughtful gifts.
Manage retail operations – Ring sales, restock merchandise, receive and organize inventory, and maintain a tidy, inviting shop.
MUST-HAVES
Must be available Saturdays and Sunday afternoons
1+ year of experience in a retail environment
Reliable, punctual, and strong follow-through
Able to meet the physical demands of a retail environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting/carrying inventory as needed
Practical knowledge of a wide range of art mediums and supplies or a strong willingness to learn quickly
Experience in a high-volume retail setting (you’re comfortable and even thrive when it’s busy)
Comfortable selling both art supplies and gift items, and sharing information about our classes and offerings
Excellent multitasking skills (juggling customers, POS, and restocking with calm and care)
A people-first mindset: friendly, welcoming, and collaborative
Comfortable working in a collaborative, feedback-friendly environment with clear boundaries and professional communication

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$20–$24/hour, based on experience, with opportunities for growth
