Position: Senior Scientist

Responsibilities: The Senior Scientist will be responsible for developing cell lines and in vivo tumor models for evaluation of ex vivo edited cellular therapeutic candidates. Duties include: Generation, clonal selection, expansion of tumor cell lines expressing transduced marker constructs; establishing tumor models to support internal therapeutic programs in cross-functional collaboration; developing quantification and phenotyping methods for detection and analysis of transferred edited immune cells. Necessary skills include: extensive tissue culture experience, including subcloning and clonal analysis, ddPCR, quantitative PCR, microscopy, flow cytometry, and ELISA or other plate based quantification of soluble proteins. Other expected skills include: analysis and interpretation of experimental data, presentation of results at team meetings and company-wide meetings; efficient time and workflow management in cross-functional collaborations; training and management of direct report(s); and presentation of findings at internal and external scientific meetings. Salary range: $153,000 - $168,000. Standard company benefits. Other duties as assigned.
Education: Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 4 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: 2 years of experience contributing to the selection and design of therapeutics strategies; 3 years of experience preparing accurate and timely data summaries and reporting findings; 5 years cell culture experience; and 5 years of experience designing molecular or cellular laboratory experiments, overseeing or performing their execution, and interpreting results.
In lieu of a Ph.D. degree and 4 years of experience, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, or related field (or foreign equivalent) plus 6 years of progressive post-masters experience in the job offered or related position.
