HIRING: Commercial Energy Efficiency Project Manager – FlexMarket “Pay for Performance” Programs

TEAA, Inc. (The Energy Alliance Association) is looking for an entry-level to mid-level Project Manager to support our commercial energy efficiency “pay for performance” FlexMarket programs throughout Northern California, with a focus on the Bay Area counties. Our current programs service commercial PG&E accounts of all sizes and are funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by various utilities and implementers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

This program provides both up-front incentives and delayed incentives based on actual energy savings performance for energy efficient lighting, refrigeration, and HVAC retrofits for commercial customers (businesses, municipalities, etc). This is a 100% remote position, and you will be based out of your Northern California home office, with approximately 30-40% travel within Northern California, with a strong focus on the core Bay Area counties, on a weekly basis.

DESIRED:

Experience or familiarity with “pay for performance” FlexMarket and/or Market Access programs.

Experience with utility and/or CCA energy efficiency programs.

Strong Excel skills

Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting.

Strong and effective sales skills.

Existing relationships with contractors and vendors.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.

Ability to produce measurable results in the form of installed projects and hit monthly kWh savings goals.

Ability to build constructive and productive customer, contractor and vendor relationships.

Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.

Strong analytical and computation skills. Technical, electrical, mechanical contracting skills a plus.

Accuracy in data collection, data entry, and strong attention to detail.

Able to work without supervision including task prioritization and scheduling.

Ability to work with a variety of individuals and handle difficult and/or sensitive issues while meeting the expectations of team members and customers.

Able to sit, stand, drive for long periods, lift 25 pounds, climb a 6-foot ladder.

Valid CA Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and insurance to travel to customer sites around Northern California.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience, in energy management, environmental sciences or related field.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Identify, scope and sell commercial energy efficiency projects.

Conduct comprehensive energy surveys for commercial customers.

Maintain a strong network of contractors and vendors who work with commercial customers.

Make best practice recommendations in potential energy efficiency projects.

Data entry and presentation of energy & cost savings recommendations to customers.

Work closely with program approved contractors in value engineering potential energy efficiency projects.

Data entry and file management.

Customer service and follow-up.

Additional related tasks as directed by management.

Compensation: Starting base salary $50k - $65k DOE, plus monthly performance bonus based on kWh savings generated by the project manager, without any limit. Successful project managers can exceed their base in performance bonuses annually. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, 7 paid holidays, PTO, and Simple IRA retirement matching program.
