We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Bicycle Mechanic to join our team. Along with the customary duties of a shop mechanic you will also be looked upon to become an Xtracycle product specialist to assist our customer support team and product manager.
This is an in-person position that will require you to work out of the Mill Valley location and work at least 1 weekend day per week.
Responsibilities:
● Bicycle Assembly, Repair and Technical Support
○ Assemble bicycles with all required accessories.
○ Inspect bikes for safety and functionality.
○ Assist customers with bike fittings and provide recommendations for accessories.
○ Diagnose and service bicycles that are brought into the Xtracycle showroom.
○ Provide support via email and phone to partner shops building and servicing Xtracycle bikes.
○ Understand the needs of our customers and dealers outside of the Bay Area and provide expert advice on repairs and potential upgrades to their Xtracycle bikes.
○ Keep track of service tickets and client support calls.
● Product Testing and Design
○ Conduct hands-on testing of new and existing products to evaluate performance.
○ Identify and document defects and usability issues with new and existing products. Provide and document solutions to these issues.
○ Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to assist in product development.
● In-Person Customer Relations
○ Lead people on individual test rides and advise them on how to operate a cargo bike.
○ Explain some of the many benefits of our cargo bikes and how they can help foster a healthier, more effective way to do many everyday tasks.
○ Help people determine which of our cargo bikes would best fit their needs.
● Help with the Functioning of the Showroom
○ Along with other Xtracycle employees, insure regular shop open hours.
○ Help with inventory and regular stock counts.
○ Help keep the physical space clean and tidy.
○ Help with incoming and outgoing deliveries.
Requirements
Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic or similar role
Strong customer service skills with a comfort to communicate with clients of varying cycling experience.
Proficiency in using e-bike tools for bike repairs and maintenance.
Familiarity with cargo bikes and their potential to positively impact everyday transportation.
Attention to detail.

Compensation
