Apprentice Solar Installer - Guaranteed Hours!

The Solar Installer will work directly with the lead installer in the field conducting solar installations. Daily work includes all facets of a solar installation, including roof work such as roof penetrations, racking, module mounting, electrical wiring, rooftop and attic conduit mounting and bending, as well as occasional ground based work such as mounting conduit and running electrical wiring to solar inverters. Most of our jobs are in Sonoma County, with occasional greater Bay Area work with travel covered by company.

Responsibilities:

Create positive impression of installation services through polite & professional interactions with the customer

Roof, attic & ground install work as directed by Lead Installer

Layout and mount hardware on a variety of roof types (i.e. secure & wire solar modules)

Complete projects with high quality workmanship and jobsite safety

Jobsite care & cleanliness

Pre & post install loading & cleaning work truck and trailer

Qualifications:

1-2 years labor experience as roofer, carpenter or related trade preferred, willing to train the right person!

Physically coordinated and experienced in handling general construction tools:

(i.e. screwdriver, wire strippers, channel locks, pliers, sockets and ratchet, power drill, SawZall, impact driver, etc.)

Can work on a roof safely, and use safety equipment properly

Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.

Reliable transportation

Timely and consistent attendance required

Physical Requirements/Demands:

Solar installation is a physical job! Ergonomics and safety are important to us!

Ability to work in various physical positions for extended periods of time including standing, bending over, kneeling, squatting, etc.

Ability to walk on uneven and/or unpaved surfaces
