Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Working Foreman
G.N.Henley,Inc. an established Bay Area general engineering company is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join our team. We are centrally located in the East Bay and our radius of service is 75 miles. We specialize in private and public civil construction with scopes covering building, site demolition, grading, slide repair, underground, and paving. The ideal individuals would bring solid knowledge and experience and be willing to have a "whatever it takes" attitude to complete the tasks at hand. This may include laboring, raking, shoveling, long hours, nights and weekend work in addition to requested equipment operating and production capabilities. Position offers opportunity for growth and long term career with a great family atmosphere between employees. We are a non signatory company.
Qualifications:
-High school graduate or GED minimum
-Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to read and interpret development plans, meet and coordinate daily work with client superintendent, schedule deliveries, material orders and truck dispatch, read, check, understand and set grade, provide proficient layout of site for daily progress. Set up laser. GPS knowledge a plus.
- Ability to clearly communicate with company staff, and project related contacts
- Ability to manage field tasks and work with project related subcontractors
- Trustworthy, Reliable, Respectful
- Punctual and on time
-Willingness to work with others as part of a team. Take direction from senior co workers.
- Must have a valid California driver's license and be deemed acceptable by insurance review.
- Must have an understanding of construction safety standards and practices
MUST have JOURNEYMAN level experience and understanding of the following construction activities: grading, underground, site work. Candidate would need ability to immediately go to work and be self sufficient operating. We do not have time to train at this time. Please do not apply if you lack this requirements.
-5 years of grading and operating work experience minimum.
-A safe driving record and personal transportation.
-Class A license is a plus
-Compliance with company safety training and reporting.
-Demonstrated leadership skill and the ability to work with others in stressful situations
-Ability to coordinate work with subcontractors/other trades.
-Operate safely and proficiently and take proper care of company owned equipment.
