Acapulco Rock & Soil is a dynamic and fast-growing Landscape Supply Company with more than 20 years in business. We have a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and have established ourselves as a leader in the Bay Area. We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
Our new team member must provide a wide range of mechanical advice as well as technical services on company equipment and vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to maintenance on dump trucks, end dumps, flatbed trucks, concrete trailers, forklifts, wheel loaders and automobiles.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Schedule and perform maintenance on company equipment and vehicles. This will include performing complex operations such as engine, electrical, fuel, brake, exhaust repairs and field tests.
-Schedule and complete preventive maintenance operations such as lubrication, fluid changes and brake adjustments.
-Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50lbs) including brake drums, tires, ladders, tool chests, floor jacks, etc., as necessary. As well as the ability to use a ladder and other elevation equipment to access the elevated areas such as light fixtures and for repairs and maintenance.
-Must be able to operate bench grinder, torch, drill press, jack and jack stands, Sawzall, oil pumps, power washer, parts cleaner and other hand tools required to perform work.
-Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately with daily mechanic logs.
-Maintain tools and workplace so that conditions are clean, neat and organized.
-Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety provisions associated with vehicle maintenance. Understands OSHA standards and provisions.
-Understand and conform to State EPA regulations regarding disposal of toxic waste substances.
-Available to perform emergency roadside services as needed. Requires operation of either replacement vehicle or utility truck. Emergency situations may require calls at home, extended hours, and/or weekend work, but these situations are rare.
-Must use knowledge of tools, procedures, technical skills and safety rules used in the maintenance and repair of gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered equipment.
-Other mechanic related duties, as assigned.
