Award-winning, Berkeley based builder specializing in upscale residential construction, McCutcheon Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced professional with residential construction experience to be a Journeyman Carpenter for large and small remodel projects. This is a great opportunity for a skilled person with a passion for remodeling and learning.
The Journeyman Carpenter will be partnered with a Project Foreman/Lead Carpenter for each job. Many of the projects will be between $200k and $500k, with some in excess of $1 million. This position requires the ability to follow instructions, work independently and is “bags on”.

Skills and Traits
Able to do layout, framing and finish carpentry of typical projects, including new homes, room additions, and remodeling
Able to follow instructions and support Project Foreman/Lead Carpenter
Proficient at reading and implementing construction drawings
Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates
Ability to climb ladders for heights up to 60 feet, crawl approx. 50 feet, work with tools, lumber and materials. Able to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet
Ability to speak, read and write in English
Must have a clean DMV driving record
Must have reliable transportation, truck preferred
Must have own tools
Excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills
Professional demeanor, appearance and attitude
Computer skills and the ability to learn new programs
Experience
Ideally five years relevant experience in all phases of residential construction
Compensation
$73-77k depending upon experience, with Paid Time Off, excellent health benefits including HSA, 401k with matching, ESOP stock plan, mileage, tool allowance, training
