POSITION SUMMARY
Our Maintenance Mechanics partner closely with all departments, including production, sanitation, compounding, shipping, and administrative areas. Our well-rounded maintenance team is dedicated to continuous learning and mentorship of the department, and we love to help our mechanics continually grow and develop in various areas of skilled trades. We love to teach and grow from within.
If you have at machine maintenance experience, are a safety leader, and if you enjoy working independently AND as part of an unbeatable team—we’d love to talk with you! Prior experience with computerized machinery and/or automated machine operation in a production line a tremendous plus.
SCHEDULE - Our hours of manufacturing operation are 4:45am-1pm. Maintenance Mechanics may be scheduled to start between 4:45am and 7am; availability to start work at 4:45am is required.
The Maintenance Mechanics report to the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor and are responsible for machinery and facility support throughout EO’s operations. All Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the setup, optimization, and preventative maintenance on all equipment utilized to fill the product. The Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for troubleshooting advanced or complex issues with equipment to make needed repairs. The maintenance mechanics will operate, inspect, test and maintain industrial equipment such as boilers, compressors, chillers, steam kettles, mixers, pumps, forklifts, filling, capping and labeling equipment.
This roles are additionally responsible for completing advanced or complex work orders for facility maintenance and repairs and for assisting the Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor in creating departmental guidelines and resources. Facility related projects throughout the EO campus range from electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, soldering, and potentially welding.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and Engineering
Set up bottle filling lines in accordance with the production plan and proper protocols
Troubleshoot and fix equipment to eliminate downtime and maintain safety
Inspect the machines for unusual noises or movements
Coordinate repairs in a timely manner
Clean, inspect and lubricate machinery components
Maintain work logs, repair logs, maintenance records & DI/RO water/boiler water quality logs
Communicate effectively with outside technicians, vendor partners, and parts suppliers as needed upon request of EMF managers
Schedule and ensure completion of ongoing preventative maintenance programs; complete logs and inspection reports
Help maintain parts inventory and an organized manuals database
Complete ongoing training on equipment set up, safety and proper sanitation
Help keep the maintenance department clean and organized
Help install and configure new equipment
Provide training for production supervisors and leads on new equipment
Place orders for supplies and equipment, as approved by the Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor or the Director of Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance
General and Facility
Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner
Ensure equipment is in safe and optimal working order
Monitor inventory and report to supervisor needed parts when necessary
Take notes of daily activities and enter into a daily report at the end of each shift
Assist the Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor in the creation of written work procedures, guidelines, training materials, other departmental resources as requested or outlined by management.
Electrical: complete electrical projects independently or in collaboration with other EMF department members, including:
Work on low voltage circuits
Work on 120 volt single phase circuits
Work on 208 volt single and 3 phase circuits
Plumbing: complete plumbing projects independently or in collaboration with other EMF department members, including work on valves, pipes, pressurized lines, and faucets. Communicate with affected employees around work areas
HVAC: complete basic HVAC projects as directed, such as changing filters and managing changes to building thermostats as directed
Elevated work: complete occasional, basic projects at elevated heights or elevated work stations; includes certification and safe operation of scissor lift and adherence to all fall protection requirements
Soldering pipes: complete soldering projects as directed by Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor or the Director of Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance
Welding: complete ARC welding projects (steel, stainless steel, and/or TIG) as directed by Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor or the Director of Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance,
Other
Support a safe working environment by reporting any unsafe conditions or observed, unsafe conduct
Follow and ensure compliance with all safety procedures including PPE, chemical handling, material handling, Safety Data Sheets, LOTO and all safety programs
Ensure that all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) are followed, including following gowning requirements in production areas
Perform other tasks and projects as directed by the manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to get along with others and consistently promote a positive team environment
Ability to safely and appropriately use hand tools and power tools
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication, necessary for optimizing machine throughput and quality.
Able to utilize Word, Excel, basic software programs and complete basic record keeping
Great problem solving skills
Ability to safely operate Material Handling Equipment and understanding of material handling dynamics (center of gravity, load centers, lift heights, name plates, and factors that affect stability) preferred. Prior forklift certification ideal
Proficient in general electrical tasks, including familiarity with the concepts around, and comfortable working with, electrical circuits
Proficient in general plumbing, including tasks related to valves, pipes, pressurized lines and faucets
English language proficiency required; bilingual in Spanish preferred

GENERAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on a production floor or warehouse environment, and occasionally outside of campus buildings. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts sometimes in high, or precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
