North Coast Nursery is looking for a full-time Assistant Nursery Manager to join our team at our beautiful nursery. This position works closely with the Nursery manager with on supervising and mentoring nursery associates, placing plant and hardgood orders, and oversite of the day-to-day operations of the nursery. Our ideal candidate will have excellent written & verbal communication skills, possess excellent customer service skills as well as be dependable, organized and have flexible availability. Other job duties will include but are not limited to: helping identify (or learn to identify) and advise on plant diseases and pests; help customers with selecting plants and make buying decisions; maintain the viability of all plant material; foster excellent customer and vendor relationships; help with nursery demonstrations and workshop; and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous nursery experience preferred. A background in horticulture is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to move/lift to 50 pounds, have flexible availability including weekends and holiday, as the nursery is open 7 days a week. Must also be able to work evenings during the month of December. $25/hour to start plus excellent benefits package.
