Front Desk Manager

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Front Desk Manager to join our team. Minimum 2 years hotel experience.

We are an independently owned boutique Best Western Hotel in Morro Bay, 1/2 block from the waterfront.

As the Front Desk Manager you will be assisting in managing front desk and hotel operations and helping to provide and maintain our exceptional guest experience.

FRONT DESK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the General Manager with daily operations and work with housekeeping, maintenance and the desk agents.

Oversee front desk operations, ensuring smooth transition on a daily basis when working.

Provide general supervision, including training and engaging front desk staff and provide orientations as needed for all staff.

Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff.

Maintain office equipment and supplies and keep an inventory on hand.

Book room reservations and groups and promote the Morro Bay area, attractions nearby and our hotel services and amenities.

Set an example for team members.

Coordinate and counsel all staff members to maintain high service standards and room and property cleanliness.

Ensure high standards of guest satisfaction and handle guest complaints and inquiries effectively.

Be flexible with work shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed, but a regular set schedule for yourself can be achieved with your support of current and new staff.

FRONT DESK MANAGER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the hotel industry and at least one year of customer service experience.

Able to easily correspond on a computer and have good computer skills and office equipment overall skills for a fax, printer and similar. Answer calls and have strong follow up.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Light filing and office duties.

Strong multitasking abilities and able to walk up and down stairs easily and stand for hours at a time.

Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.

Experience in Excel, and have reliable transportation during work hours.
