This is a great opportunity to work for one of America's leading eco-glamping resorts. We are family built & operated, off grid and perched lightly on the land in Big Sur.
Join our culinary team at Treebones Resort, a unique luxury eco-resort nestled in the natural beauty of the California coast. We offer a refined, four-course dining experience that celebrates locally sourced ingredients and thoughtfully prepared meals. Our menu is protein-forward - highlighting meat, fish, and poultry - but always inclusive of diverse dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options.
We’re currently seeking an experienced Line Cook who is passionate about seasonal cooking and can thrive in a fast-paced, elevated kitchen environment on a small team.
Responsibilities:
· Prep and cook lunch service, including fresh salads, burgers, and sandwiches made from scratch with seasonal ingredients
· Execute a nightly four-course dinner service with consistency and attention to detail
· Dinner service averages 30–60 covers, supported by 2–3 cooks depending on business levels
· Handle and prepare proteins with confidence and precision (meat, fish, poultry)
· Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sustainability standards throughout all service periods
· Show initiative and leadership - there is room to grow into a Lead Line Cook or Sous Chef role based on exceptional performance
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of experience working in a professional kitchen (line cook experience mandatory)
· Strong protein handling skills are required
· Wood-fire cooking experience is a plus
· Ability to shift between lunch and dinner service with efficiency and a positive attitude
· Passion for sustainability, teamwork, and delivering a high-quality guest experience
All shifts must be willing to:
· Work 10-hour shifts with a 2-hour midday break between lunch and dinner services
· Stand and be on your feet for the majority of each shift
· Lift up to 50 lbs regularly (e.g., moving inventory, equipment, or firewood)
· Work in high-heat environments and occasional winter storms, especially during dinner service and near the wood-fire oven
· Adapt to a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
· Maintain a positive attitude and high energy in a physically demanding, fast-paced kitchen
