Sous Chef

We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef for a winery restaurant to support kitchen operations for daily service and winery/private events. Reporting to the Culinary Director & Estate Chef, you’ll work alongside a team of professionals committed to delivering exceptional culinary experiences, combining locally inspired ingredients with innovative techniques. Duties of the Sous Chef:

- Maintain compliance with all Food Safety Regulations and standards.

- Assist with daily kitchen preparation, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

- Support the team during service by executing recipes and plating dishes with precision and attention to detail.

- Help with food delivery and bussing tasks as needed.

- Deliver outstanding customer service during guest interactions.

- Ensure the kitchen is clean, sanitized, and organized, including work surfaces, equipment, fridges, freezers, and shelves.

- Take responsibility for dishwashing duties throughout the day to support kitchen operations.

Requirements of the Sous Chef:

- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef.

- Capable of reading and accurately executing recipes.

- Proficient in safely operating kitchen equipment and tools.

- Possess basic knife skills and cooking knowledge (e.g., sautéing, frying, baking, braising, blanching).

- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.

- Exhibit strong time management skills and dependability.

- Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with team members.

- Exhibit honest, professional communication and a commitment to teamwork.

- Availability to meet scheduling needs, including evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required.

Schedule:

The anticipated work schedule is Thursday – Monday, 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with some variability to meet kitchen and business needs.

Pay Range:

$23.00 - $27.00/hour, depending on skills and experience.
