JOB SUMMARY: Greet customers and load warehouse and yard products. Assist customers, provide product information, provide support on the sales floor when needed, and keep warehouse and yard clean and orderly. Unload, check-in, and stock warehouse and yard merchandise.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Branch Manager, and Warehouse Supervisor.
DUTIES ASSIGNED:
1. Warehouse and Yard Responsibilities:
a. Keep warehouse clean, neat, and organized.
b. Keep products rotated selling older ones first.
c. Safety in the warehouse and yard.
d. Sweep and clean loading area daily.
e. Keep sidewalks, exits, entrances clean and unobstructed.
f. Drive the delivery truck when needed.
g. Check load tickets of customers for accuracy.
h. Greet and thank all customers who come in the yard.
i. Load and deliver to customers when applicable.
2. Assist Shipping and Receiving:
a. Loading and unloading trucks.
b. Check delivery invoices for correct quantities.
c. Provide receiver with bill of landing, and/or trucking document.
3. General Responsibilities:
a. Maintaining a pleasant working environment, including pleasant communications among employees and branches, helping foster a team environment with all employees.
b. Responsible for complying with company safety rules and regulations.
c. Always lift properly and use all safety equipment provided.
d. Responsible for keeping up with new product trainings and having a working knowledge of products sold.
e. Responsible for conducting our business according to Farm Supply’s Core Values.
f. Active participation in employee meetings.
g. Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS: Work closely with shipping and receiving person, warehouse supervisor and yard personnel, must have cooperative attitude with all employees.
EQUIPMENT: Drive forklift, must be able to drive all delivery vehicles assigned to branch, must maintain valid drivers license for delivery vehicles and forklift.
WORKING REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 100 pounds, operate a forklift, write legibly, be able to walk up and down ladders/stairs, and stand on concrete for long periods of time.
