Whether our customers are accelerating life sciences research, solving complex analytical challenges, improving patient diagnostics and therapies or increasing productivity in their laboratories, we are here to support them.Location/Division Specific InformationSouth San Francisco, CA / Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing DivisionHow will you make an impact?You will join a dedicated team of bioinformatics scientist and software test engineers responsible for verifying and validating software and algorithm solutions for next generation sequencing products. Come join our team to work on IVD products that directly impacts patient health.What will you do?

Represent software testing in program core teams, collaborating with colleagues from diverse functions such as molecular biologists, algorithm developers, and product managers. Translate custom needs into software product requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with project timelines and comprehensive documentation.

Plan software release schedule and resource allocation. Identify software testing milestones, maintain software testing dashboards and track testing efforts across all team members.

Conduct Sprint planning meetings, run Sprint dashboards for testing team.

Write and review test cases (manual and automation), test strategy, test data, reports, and trace matrices, ensuring design compliance and test coverage.

Initiate and support automation improvements, performance benchmarking, performance testing.

Evaluate and incorporate new automation tools to improve capabilities of existing in-house test automation tools.

Define the scope of testing within the context of each software release for web application and embedded instrument control software.

Coordinate with developers to analyze issues found during the testing, perform root case analysis and identify practices to help improve software testing.

Participate in code reviews and ensure good coding practices for test automation.

Participate in audit and respond to questions from regulatory agencies.

How will you get here?EducationBS in Computer Science/Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, EE or related discipline with 10+ years of work experience ; MS or higher with 6+ years experienceExperience

Experience in genomics and bioinformatics

Experience with regulatory standards and requirements for medical devices

Proficiency in software design and development, with a deep understanding of software testing standard processes

Strong command of Java, Python, Perl, Selenium and Linux/Unix environments, with experience in relational databases

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrated leadership in leading project completion

Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
