Al's Place / aka / Al the Wop's is looking for a Line Cook for a variety of shifts during the week and weekend.

This role requires you to accurately follow instructions, maintain a clean working environment, prepare the kitchen pre- and post-shift, adhere to checklists, and working cooperatively with Al's Place managers, owners, and staff.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare the kitchen pre-shift; set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

- Cook food using a flat top, a stove top an oven, and fryers

- Be able to cook steaks to temperature.

- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served according to Al's Place guidelines

- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

- Check quality and quantity of ingredients

- Monitor food supplies and other stock items, help maintain an organized walk-in cooler, freezer, and other storage and prep pares. Work with managers to place orders with suppliers as needed

Requirements

- Experience in a commercial kitchen as cook (line cook, chef, etc.) and in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware

- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures

- Ability to work in a team

- Very good communication skills

- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage

Hourly: $18.00 per hour

Time: 20+ hours/week
