Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking eligibility and benefits verification for office visits, treatments, and procedures
Communicate cost with patient(s) prior to appointment
Calculate cost for basic treatments (hydration, office visit, port flush, etc) and note it into the patient’s toolbar
Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy
Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances
Verify prior authorization is in place prior to treatment
Verify if cost is noted on the patient’s account prior to treatment
Conduct a full benefits investigation when necessary
Report any major issue(s) to the billing manager or Billing Lead
Any other tasks asked upon you by the billing manager, physicians or management team

Qualifications
High school diploma (required)
One year experience in a medical billing office setting
Working knowledge of all Microsoft office computer programs.
Working knowledge of excel spreadsheets
Working knowledge of EMR system

Compensation:
Non-exempt, hourly position
Hourly range of $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience and time with the company .
Between 38 and 40 hours per week. Monday through Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm with a 1 (one) hour lunch break. Friday’s 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 1 (one) hour lunch break.
