Plan, implement and coordinate all safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational illness and injuries and financial losses.

Maintain, report, and work to improve safety metrics that are both proactive (such as number of Hazard ID’s, or Closed Safety Items) and reactive (such as near-misses, accidents, and lost-time incident rates); report any trends and recommendations to management.

Conduct & document near-miss and accident investigations to develop solutions that prevent or minimize reoccurrence.

Conducts site audits for compliance with company global standards and conduct all Site safety training

Ensure compliance with applicable laws by making sure legally mandated training is up to date and appropriate records kept. Complete required reports as necessary (ex: Tier II)

Leads and influence day-to-day programs at the site, including new employee orientation, and regulatory record keeping/reporting

Manage the company hazard communication program including maintaining the SDS sheets on any chemicals used in the facility.

Lead safety-related teams including the site Safety Committee, the Emergency Evacuation Team, and the First Aid Team.

Prepare applications, interpret regulations and adapt written programs as necessary.

Represent company to regulatory agencies on EHS matters and coordinate EHS related response to corporate, or regulatory agency audits and questionnaires.

Develops and manages site EHS budget

Coordinate company industrial hygiene program

Coordinate and maintain biohazard & hazardous waste disposal and clean up programs as needed

Maintain first aid equipment throughout the facility

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental management, and/or sustainability engineering discipline required.

5+ years EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have thorough knowledge of federal and local EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA

Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards

Demonstrated ability to determine training needs, organize and/or conduct training.

Must possess the leadership skills to take charge and initiate actions to drive change

Must possess the analytical qualities to make sound decisions through the conceptualization and evaluation of different courses of action to meet or exceed operational goals

Excellent and complete attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Ability to communicate openly and honestly

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Please contact us to request accommodation.Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00–$168,750.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
