Job Description

Who We Are

The Data Management Organization (DMO) is tasked with ownership and management of the shared data services environments. This function oversees the data shared services environment and ensures company-wide consistency around data lifecycle, privacy, security, and ultimately the data strategy. Data Management organization is chartered to build Data Monitoring, Auditing, Data Discovery tools, and compliance assessment tools. This is an effort to digitize the process of Data Governance across the organization globally.

What You'll Do

  • Design and codeData Auditing framework for Twitter
  • Be part of a start-up like a team that is chartered to make Twitter data discoverable
  • Go-Getter who can take Business challenges and turn the same into an efficient solution
  • Able to provide feedback on the code to ensure best practices to meet DMO/Privacy goals
  • Able to write thorough design documents for complex systems and able to give constructive feedback on the designs of others.
  • Write high-quality code, designed to be easily understood by others and maintained in the future
  • Work with PM and Design to provide input on the overall product backlog and the design of new features
  • Loves problem-solving has a knack of using open source technology and be the catalyst in the team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Back-end Engineer
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures background
  • Proficiency with Java, Python or Scala
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Experience designing large scale systems
  • Strong knowledge of MapReduce, Hadoop, HDFS
  • The ideal candidate has experience with and/or a history of contributions to Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Scalding, Parquet, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts or frameworks such as TensorFlow, pandas NumPy

Desired

  • Prior experience in building enterprise tools/ internal applications
  • Prior experience working for a consumer Internet company
  • Experience working with teams distributed across geographies and functions
  • Experience building UIs using Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, React, or Ember
  • Understanding of web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
