Job Description

What’s it all about?

This Manager role is in the Visa Direct Global Risk, Compliance and Policy team, which also has global responsibility for Visa Direct Cross-border Enablement. This team is part of the Global Visa Direct Ecosystem Readiness team.

Visa Direct is a high priority digital product, offering significant potential for new revenue growth and displacement of cash and bank transfer. Originators (senders) and Recipients (beneficiaries) derive value from real-time payment use cases such as:

· Person-to-person payments and wallet payouts (eg. Facebook, Google, PayPal)

· Cross-border remittances (Western Union, Moneygram, Transferwise)

· Payouts to suppliers to marketplace apps (eg. Uber, AirBnb, Amazon)

· Conventional disbursements (insurance, compensation claims, tax refunds)

Building a world-class security value proposition is critical to the success of Visa Direct, driving engagement and uptake by both originating and receiving clients, particularly for cross-border payments. We reinforce Visa Direct security through a range of measures, including an approval requirement for all new programs launched on Visa Direct, extensive data requirements and risk controls on push payments, and deployment of Visa’s extensive range of fraud risk tools for pull payments.

In this role, you will take primary responsibility for managing and developing our Program Approval program, which is critical to ensuring that only originators and programs working to robust risk and compliance standards can operate on the Visa Direct eco-system.

You will also have an opportunity to take program management responsibility for a range of initiatives designed to enhance the Visa Direct Risk and Compliance proposition and improve Cross-border enablement across both push-to-card and push-to-account. In particular, with the acquisition of Earthport, we are undertaking a significant body of work designed to integrate the push-to-card and push-to-account propositions, across risk control, program approval, operations etc.

What we expect of you, day to day:

In your role as leader of the Program Approval program, you would need to:

· Consult with risk, AML, and policy experts in the Visa Direct team on approval processes

· Work with our platform team to specify and drive delivery of new features and functionality for the program approval platform

· Monitor and manage performance of approval teams (Product, AML Risk) in meeting the SLA, critical to achieving client launch targets

· Communicate and train global stakeholders in the program approval process

· Work with our monitoring team to identify and remediate programs that are not compliant with the terms of their approval

As program manager for key initiatives in the Risk, Policy and Compliance and Cross-border enablement team, we would need you to develop a plan for achieving clearly defined objectives, organise and manage stakeholders, identify and escalate roadblocks, prepare documentation on agreed processes and roles and responsibilities, and undertake any training and communication needed.

Programs and initiatives may vary as needed by the business – typical current examples for illustration include:

· development of the risk control framework for AFTs, specialised purchase transactions used to fund accounts and money transfers

· development of innovative acquiring models for global partners, such as self-acquiring in selected jurisdictions

Qualifications

· 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

·

Preferred Qualifications 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.

· At least 5 years’ experience in a program management, consulting and/or product management role in the payments sector

· Experience in management of Risk. Compliance and/or Policy responsibilities would be an advantage, but not essential

· Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing

· Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving

· Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a complex stakeholder management environment

Advanced degree preferred, but not essential
