Summary of Position
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounts payable/receivable, full-cycle payroll, quarter-end and year-end tasks, certified payroll compliance reporting, and construction-related accounting functions. This role requires attention to detail in verifying purchase orders and invoices, accurate cost coding, and ensuring alignment with project budgets.
Job Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Collect and verify employee time cards
Process full-cycle payroll, including posting payroll, issuing direct deposits, and paying weekly payroll taxes
Complete certified payroll compliance reporting
Assist with subcontractor progress payments
Perform bank reconciliations
Verify and match field purchase orders and invoices
Accurately cost code transactions and check against project budgets
Prepare quarter-end and year-end reports
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with American Contractor software preferred (not required)
Construction field or construction accounting experience preferred (not required)
